Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of the deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

what makes you happy?

pause for a moment and ponder... is it family, friends, loved ones, money, endless shopping, travelling, partying, having a stable job, the latest gadgets, a grand house, the hottest car model, getting VIP treatment... the list could go on. it's easy to be joyful when life is smiling at you. everything is rosy... it's such a wonderful world...

but what if you're going down the drain and life seems hopeless?

picture this. you failed your exams, your boy/girlfriend of several years suddenly left you for somebody he/she just met, you get sacked from your job, your parents are getting divorce, your house burned down, and nobody's there for you to lean on...
could you still go on and say "it's okay. i'll get through this." could you do it with a sincere smile? most of us won't. most of us can't.

but here's a ray of sunshine... even if you're going through the lowest points in your life, God is still there with you. he won't give you trials which you cannot overcome. so if you are undergoing such hardships, be flattered. God knows you are stronger than your problems. and to make things lighter, offer it to him. let go, and let God. don't be grumpy... if you need to let out some steam, don't take it on other people... rather, shout "Hallelujah, anyway!":D
