Mine's Rainbow at Dusk by Emilie Loring. I found this dusty brown-paged paperback in my aunt's closet.:smile2: Apparently, it's one of those dear pocketbooks which never got back to its rightful owner. hehe.
I've just finished reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It's one great book. I found it hard to put it down once I started reading it. :smile2:

Hate Mail from Cheerleaders and Other Adventures (http://www.amazon.com/Sports-Illustrated-Cheerleaders-Adventures-Reilly/dp/1933821124/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-8759736-2849548?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1187020424&sr=1-1) by Rick Reilly. A collection of his columns from Sports Illustrated for the last 7 years. Definitely not just for sports fans. His columns are funny, witty, and heartwarming. One of the articles featured was his column on the Hoyts - World's Greatest Dad (http://www.medskul.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1139) (see the thread here in Inspirational (http://www.medskul.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1139)) which, coupled with a YouTube video has been forwarded so many times to so many e-mails. In a postscript to the column (there is a postcript to every column), Riley wrote of having received a few of the e-mails himself with subjects like "Dude, you have to read this!" To which he would reply "Dude! I wrote it!" .

Red Rabbit (fiction)- by Tom Clancy. Not a new book actually, copyright 2002. I'm in the middle of it but the premise is that the Pope ( Pope John Paul II at that time) threatened to resigned from his papacy and go back to Poland, lead the people against USSR, if the latter continues to persecute and repress the Polish. Interesting because I'm in the part where the KGB contacted the bulgarians to look for an assassin to do the job, preferably from the turks -- sounds like the way if really happened, right?
Trivia questions for the book lovers:
1. What if Jack Ryan ( Tom Clancy's hero-character who eventually became the US president, meets Jack Baeur ( 24 H fame) and goes after the terrorists?:karatelou::karatelou:
2. In the movie, Serendipity, what was the title of the book where the lead female character wrote down her name, phone number and address?:smile2::smile2:

Thanks guys for your answers:
1. They would have been a kick-ass team. However, all are fictitious character in books and movies. But what if a movie be made with all of them in that one, it would be awesome, and the world would be a better place to live in..:smile2::smile2:
2. Indeed, it is Love in the time of Cholera by Grabriel Marquez. Nice book actually. Noticed it in the movie, but it was Evram C who introduced me to the book. I bought a copy, must have passed it on to somebody..
You can say that again Sarah.:crybaby::cry:

I refuse to answer for reason that i don't want to be a "spoiler" :sneer:. ( in case you don't know, spoiler is the term coined for a person who read the book specifically, HP books, and gave out the review or ending before other people could read it.) :sneer: sorry to spoil your fun. do i know you?
prisoner of azkaban ,book 3 and half-blood prince, book 6 are my favorites.

As Gigi posted, maybe they just don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read the book yet. But if you're a real Harry Potter fan, I think it's unusual if you haven't read the latest book. Sorry, not an HP fan, be it Harry Potter or Hewlett-Packard :smile2: .

Re-reading Tom Clancy's The Bear and The Dragon: Premise is that Russia has discovered it has a big oil deposit, perhaps that biggest in the world and a big gold deposit. China envious of this and trying to stave off economic disaster, plans to invade Russia and assasinate its president. Russia being a member of NATO, is now USA's ally. Jack Ryan, the US president, tries everything to avert on open war, and if would fight on Russia's side if war is inevitable.

I'm in the middle of Bourne Betrayal- the latest of the Jason Bourne series ( perhaps the 4th movie as well?). Now written by Eric Van Lustbader (author of Ninja, Jian, Miko, etc). Funny though as I was going through it, scenes of Jack Bauer's 24 flashedthrough my mind. Especially since the plot seems familiar and similar: the terrorists have acquired the capacity and the actual nuclear weapon with plans of blowing it up in the USA. Also the CI ( Central Intelligence) have been penetrated by a terrorist, with a high level ally, wreaking havoc in all the efforts to thwart the nuclear explosion and all the more putting Bourne's life in danger. Nina in 24 is similar to Anne Held in the B Betrayal and ofcourse, Jason Bourne is just like the chameleon, never-say-die, "unkillable" Jack Bauer. Hmm.. is this just coincidence???
Again, as I mentioned in the past, wouldn't both JBs ( Jason Bourne and Jack Bauer) be an awesome team in a movie??:-k:D

Yes, been hearing about this being advertised in the radio.
I'm not sure though how accurate the movie's depiction would be of the book's original characters and plot. Generally speaking, movies scripted from books are a disappointment. You really have to read the book to fully enjoy it.:D
