Getting into a residency program in the U.S. is no walk in the park as any practicing alumni based here would tell anyone who may wish to pursue the path. The ECFMG process is long and tedious, not to mention very expensive; the CSA part daunting for the non-fluent speakers in the English language; and the residency matching - the most challenging of all.
I am sure I am not the first person to experience first hand generosity by an alumni who not only inspires us to pursue the training, but to reaffirm our beliefs that we too, can do it.
To Dr. Jun Bertiz for giving me the much needed recommendation letter, the pat in the shoulder, and for valuing the WVSU family culture, my sincere gratitude. I may not be matched this year, but your help and example is enough to make me feel proud that I AM AN ALUMNI OF WVSU.
