So, to Lakers and basketball fans out there, which side were you on? The Big Crybaby Shaq or The Big EgoTrippin' Kobe? Come on, share your thoughts...
(I prefer not to start a thread with my own opinion because chances are, nobody's gonna refute it. Why, oh why? Come on, boys and girls, just because I'm the admin here doesn't mean you have no right to disagree with me. By the way, I encourage you to start threads. Remember, there is no wrong opinion, okay?)
And to ngb, we are on the same fence with Vlade Divac now. He's back in L.A. Of course, he'll still be the ultimate flopper, but at least, he'll be floppin' for the Lakers...

I understand the loss of Shaq came as heavy as he is. :blowup (The Jets suffered the same fate in the loss of K. Martin ) But 2 players riding on their high horse and overfed by the team owner are bound to tumble down. If the team is built around Kobe without a dominant center in place, the Lakers may just be a transition team next season. In the playoffs, yes, but championship? A big maybe. :color

I know you meant the Nets, Theo  . Although K-Mart will make a very good defensive tackle... :D
I think the loss of K-Mart is a bigger loss for the Nets than the Lakers losing Shaq. Shaq may still be dominant, but he may have reached his peak already and on the way down (and I am not sour-graping). K-Mart is definitely still on the way up. Consider this: Which team last year played the Pistons the best? No, not the Lakers, or the Pacers. It's the Nets. With Kidd and K-Mart, they have potential. Without K-Mart, they're just another Eastern team.

I think RG, its both of them... I remember Rodman, when he came to chicago, before he signed in with the Bulls, he was both a Cryin baby and a conceited SOB!!! but, Coaach Jackson and jordan was able to tame him and as a result, 3 NBA rings...B oth Kobe and Shaq, in their own way are unbelievably proud... they dont need a coach or a mentor, they alwys need a follower.....

I just love basketball, so anything interesting within the court, i realy cant help my self but punch and punch my keyboard.......it's about the on going pre olympic games.......We regard the USA to have the best hoop players in the world( well, i do, i dont know the rest of you), and expect them to excell in the international competition like the olympics...Winning the gold is really expected from them cause we consider that american basketball is far superior than the rest of the world. That was evident when the likes of MJ, stockton and comp dumped their rivals with an average of 30-40 points per game...But what happened last weekend againt Italy was a disaster, they were buried for almost 20 points and looked so helpless..
Would USA be a team to beat this coming Olympics?

My answer to the above poll is all of them. Everyone wants to be no 1, the go-to-guy until eventually they disintegrated. Well, just like FPJ and Ping not bucking down and giving in, the result, both of them lost in the elections.

Well as they say, bilog ang bola. Sometimes you are up but there will be times that you will be down. The rest of the world have catch up with USA in terms of basketball and have overtaken them with good teamwork, and good fundamentals of the game.

I still believe USA will win the basketball gold in Athens... The game against Italy was bad but that should serve as a wake-up call. I think they'll adapt in time to international rules (too much zone) and players (sharpshooters)...
Update: Lakers trade Gary Payton and Rick Fox to the Celtics for Chucky Atkins, Marcus Banks and Chris Mihm... (out with the old, in with the scrubs?? )
