     April 5, 2004, Las Vegas, Nevada. The number thirteen (13) has never been this lucky.

     On April 3, 2004, thirteen (13) College of Medicine alumni (12 from the U.S. mainland, 1 from the Bahamas) organized and elected the first set of officers for the International Chapter of the Alumni Association in glitzy Las Vegas.

     This should go down as one of the most significant moments in history since Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo's declaration of Philippine independence.

     Well, maybe that's too much of a significance. Still, many believe this is a very important milestone. There are quite a number of WVSU College of Medicine alumni already based outside the Philippines, not only in the United States but in other parts of the world as well. It's about time that they gather their resources together in aid of the school.

     Drs. Arthur and Lorraine del Rosario's place in Las Vegas was the place where the historic moment took place. Dr. Dan Garganera (1994) temporarily presided the meeting and after the Constitution and By-laws were ratified (see image below), officers were elected. All 13 attendees were included in the Board of Directors.

     The organization will work on its incorporation for the next few months. Several projects for the alma mater were also discussed, including recruitment of new members. This web site is now the official web site of the organization.
